"Empowering Social Justice through Special Provisions"

Article 15(4) of the Indian Constitution, often referred to as the "special provision" clause, empowers the state to make special provisions for the advancement of socially and educationally backward classes. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar strongly supported such affirmative action measures to address historical inequalities and uplift marginalized communities. He believed that without targeted interventions, true equality couldn't be achieved. Ambedkar's endorsement of Article 15(4) reflects his commitment to social justice and his pragmatic approach to dismantling caste-based disparities in Indian society.

Ambedkar’s idea of constitutionalism revolved around social justice. He wanted to create an egalitarian society through the process of constitutionalism.
